We've crunched the numbers using Finder's unique credit card scoring system to find October's best frequent flyer cards.

Each of these card lets you earn plenty of Qantas or Velocity Points, with generous bonus points offers when you sign up, plus other great perks and benefits. We balance this against card fees and rates to figure out the best of the best.

1. ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Card

The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black has a Finder Score of 9.9 in the frequent flyer category.

This card has it all: a high earn rate (1 point per dollar), and a whopping 130,000 bonus points in total (although it takes 12 months to get them all). And while the annual fee isn't exactly low at $425, a $200 cashback softens the blow.

2. Qantas Premier Titanium

The Qantas Premier Titanium has a frequent flyer Finder Score of 9.76.

Let's be clear here: this card is not for everyone. You need to earn $200K a year just to get it, and pay a $1,200 annual fee.

The reason this card scores so highly is because of what it offers: 150,000 bonus Qantas Points and an earn rate of 1.25 points per dollar. This is an A-list card for big spenders.

3. Qantas American Express Ultimate Card

The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card has a Finder Score of 9.64 in the frequent flyer category.

While this card's bonus points offer is lower than many of the top scoring cards, it has a higher earn rate at 1.25 points per dollar spent. And the hefty $450 annual fee is completely offset by a $450 travel credit.

4. Westpac Altitude Qantas Black

The Westpac Altitude Qantas Black has a Finder Score of 9.62 in the frequent flyer category.

This card has a very generous 120,000 bonus Qantas Points offer, as long as you spend $6,000 in the first 120 days. The catch? The points don't hit your account until you hold the card for 12 months.

You earn a little less than a point per dollar, and the annual fee is $370. That's still high, but lower than many of the best frequent flyer cards.

5. Westpac Altitude Velocity Black

The Westpac Altitude Velocity Black has a Finder Score of 9.62 in the frequent flyer category.

This card has all the details as the Westpac Altitude Qantas Black, but for Velocity. A solid bonus points offer, mid-range annual fee and an earn rate of 0.75 points per dollar spent.
