Vodafone, TPG and iiNet are hiking NBN prices by $2 to $9 a month depending on the plan's speed.

Vodafone and iiNet are part of the TPG Telecom brand, so it makes sense that all three providers are raising NBN prices at the same time for new and some existing customers.

The price hikes kick in today, 26 March 2025.

You can use the jump links to quickly skip between their price changes or head straight to where we talk about why the prices are changing and whether their plans are still worth it.

Vodafone NBN price changes

Vodafone is increasing prices on most of its fixed-line NBN plans by $4 to $9 a month.

The biggest hikes are on the NBN 25 and NBN 50 plans, with the latter being Australia's most popular speed tier for everyday speeds for a 2-3 person household.

PlanOld PriceNew price
NBN 12$70 a month$74 a month
NBN 25$75 a month$84 a month
NBN 50$80 a month$89 a month
NBN 100$90 a month$94 a month
NBN 250$100 a month$104 a month

Vodafone's changes might be easier to take since it was one of the few brands that lowered NBN prices in 2024 by $5 to $25 a month while others were putting theirs up.

The biggest discounts went to the fastest speed tiers.

TPG NBN price changes

TPG is bumping up prices across all speed tiers by $2 to $5 a month.

Last year, it raised prices by $5 a month on NBN 12, NBN 25, and NBN 50 but knocked $30 and $40 a month off NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans, respectively.

Plan/Speed tierOld PriceNew price
NBN 12$69.99 a month$74.99 a month
NBN 25$74.99 a month$76.99 a month
NBN 50$79.99 a month$84.99 a month
NBN 250$94.99 a month$99.99 a month
NBN 1000$104.99 a month$109.99 a month

TPG is also raising the price across its 100GB and unlimited data fixed wireless plans by $15 and $7 a month.

iiNet NBN price changes

iiNet is hiking prices by $2 to $5 a month across three fixed-line NBN plans, with the biggest changes impacting NBN 12 and NBN 100 plans.

PlanOld PriceNew price
NBN 12$69.99 a month$74.99 a month
NBN 25$74.99 a month$76.99 a month
NBN 100$89.99 a month$94.99 a month

Its fixed-wireless NBN 12 plan is also getting a $5 a month bump. However, the NBN 25 fixed-wireless plan will see a price reduction of $3 a month.

Why are prices rising?

Here's some context from a TPG spokesperson explaining the changes.

"Due to a number of factors, including changes in wholesale pricing from NBN Co, most customers will see an increase in their monthly costs, with some [existing] customers paying less per month," the TPG spokesperson told Finder.

"We're phasing out some of our older fixed-line NBN plans as we transition some customers to our latest suite of plans. Customers on impacted plans will be contacted and provided with a clear comparison of their new plan and previous plan."

Basically, price changes for new customers are pretty straightforward. For existing ones, it depends on the legacy plan and speed tier you're on.

From what we've seen, you're potentially looking at a price cut if you're on one of the faster speed tiers.

Are their NBN plans still worth it?

We looked at the average cost of fixed-line NBN plans in our database across the different speed categories to help you compare TPG, iiNet and Vodafone's new prices.

Speed tierAverage monthly price
NBN 12$61 a month
NBN 25$71 a month
NBN 50$84 a month
NBN 100$95 a month
NBN 250$114 a month
NBN 500$149 a month
NBN 1000$131 a month

Their plans still stack up pretty well on the fastest speed tiers (NBN 250 and NBN 1000). They're about average for NBN 50 and NBN 100 but not as competitive on the slower speeds.

The good news is that all three providers have some deals in place to make the price hikes more palatable (for new customers only).

  • TPG: Price beat guarantee for the first 12 months, matching eligible providers like Aussie Broadband, Belong, Dodo, Optus, Superloop, Tangerine, and Telstra. You can also get $15 a month off for the first 6 months.
  • iiNet: $15 a month off for the first 6 months.
  • Vodafone: $10 a month off for the first 6 months. You can also get a free speed upgrade if you're a Vodafone mobile customer.

More providers may adjust their plans before or after NBN announces its new financial year prices on 1 May.
