This research showed the average cost of home insurance is $2,044, Youi was only marginally higher priced than average at an average of $2,127. There are cheaper home insurance policies available including ahm, Woolworths, and Bankwest, but keep in mind that the best home insurance for you may depend on more than just price.

"I was looking for a cheap and fairly basic contents policy when I was moving. But I had a couple of pricey items I was worried might get damaged in the move. I took out a new policy with Youi and found the whole process quite simple. I was also able to call Youi and get a temporary extras cover on specific items just for the move. This was great for peace of mind and was very easy to sort out. Flexible, tailored cover is so important for insurance. And if the insurer makes it hard, it's time to switch."

  • Contents in commercial storage - Up to $20,000 to repair or replace items damaged while in commercial storage.
  • Pet injury - Up to $1,000 towards vet fees if your cat or dog is injured due to an accident.
  • Business items - Up to $5,000 to cover business tools lost or damaged in an insured event.

Stick it to your clients

So after having no claims on any of 5 properties, not even from the devastating Logan floods Youi sees fit to increase our premiums by 50% goodbye Youi

Scam organisation

Youi get you on board with initial cheap quote, charge extortionate increases and then will not honour genuine claims. Avoid this organisation at all costs. They are unhelpful and merely focused on avoiding the claim and looking for any opportunity to deny.

Never go near them for home insurance

they deny claims by saying, the house was built poorly and in very bad condtion, then what prevented them cheking the house before insurance. they give cash compnesation to cover only small perecnatge. they create report to say damage was not cuased by what we reported. if tree falls on your house they will say if the house was bult correctly ther would have been no damage. their reply is illogical but who willtake them to court?

Slow and reluctant to respond

We have a home insurance with youi. Earlier this year in Brisbane there was heavy storms crossing south east Queensland. Our home did not skip from the storm damage in February 2022. We reported to youi and made the claim accordingly. It is now a month passed we are still waiting to hear from youi.

Worst home insurance ever

Claim for the cracks after the earthquake event. Base on engineer report, theoretically due to soil/footing that caused the crack of the house, not due to earthquake. Engineer report state: "Further investigation and discussions into the exact cause of differential footing movement can be provided if required", so I asked if YOUI can do further investigation because they can't just base on theoretical report and rejecting any further investigation. However, they still rejected and stated that theoretically the report is correct without any proof. I have asked people around and they actually said youi is one of the worst insurance when it is about house insurance. Regret to stay for 2 years and not helpful

    I have been in touch with your office and I was directed to your website to read your statement following the very bad press you have sustained following the investigation currently underway.
