Our verdict

Pros

  • Everyday car insurance gives members 10% off their Woolworths shop once per month. With the average Australian household grocery bill soaring, these are worthwhile savings.
  • Its comprehensive policy offers up to $500 worth of cover for child safety seats and prams, in addition to coverage for personal effects. Most insurers only offer personal effects coverage.
  • Everyday car insurance was one of the top rated car insurers in our 2023 Customer Satisfaction Awards. It scored 4.36/5 stars.

Cons

  • It has mid-range to higher pricing but an average to low level coverage in comparison to other comprehensive policies. You may be able to get a similar policy for cheaper elsewhere.
  • For third party property and third party fire & theft policies, the uninsured motorist benefit covers up to $3,000 - this is lower than others who cover up to $5,000 as standard.
  • Excess free windscreen cover is only an optional extra. Other insurers like Australia Post include excess free windscreen repairs as part of its standard comprehensive policy.

How does Everyday compare with other insurers?

As part of our 2023 car insurance awards, our experts analysed 30+ comprehensive car insurance policies, comparing over 640 features and 1,000+ quotes. Here's how Everyday stacked up next to other insurers.

Features

Everyday's comprehensive car insurance policy offers reasonable coverage for a mid-range cost. In terms of perks, it's great for those who shop at Woolworths as you can get 10% off your grocery shop once per month. Otherwise it offers a similar level of coverage to other insurers who may be cheaper. It includes damage to your own car, damage to other people's property, a new car replacement if yours is written off within 2 years of its first registration, a hire car after theft and personal effects coverage up to $500.

Does WW car insurance cover for a windscreen replacement without paying an excess?

        Hi Tonie,

        Thank you for your question.

Yes, Woolworths does provide cover for your first windscreen without paying an excess. This will be implemented to comprehensive, third Party Property and Fire & Theft products as they stated in their product disclosure statement: We will pay the cost of replacing or repairing the front windscreen of your car if it is accidentally broken or damaged. We will not apply the agreed excess(es) (set out in your Certificate of Insurance) to the first windscreen claim made in any one period of insurance.

        All the best,
        Zubair
